Belter!

Something to show for a fair number of lunchtimes staring at washing tablet bags hung in birch trees. This was one of at least three Red-belted Clearwings coming to MYO and CUL lure on the edge of Biggleswade Common today. I thought these photos made a change from the usual top down variety. Sorry about the associated habitat - he was a bit lively.

A couple of gatekeepers, a ringlet and a marbled white. All taken along the path between The Lodge and Biggleswade Common.

Small skippers

Some small skippers from Biggleswade common, which is packed with butterflies at the moment. On the third pic you can just see the orange on the underside of the antennae tip which distinguishes it from the similar Essex skipper whose underside is black.
